ArtsBridge Summer in New York


 

The Signature ArtsBridge Summer Program in New York is a 2-week intensive held each August in New York City.  Students and faculty from around the country convene for classes, coaching and workshops, as well as opportunities to meet professionals in their field and build their network.

 

ArtsBridge Summer NYC 2012

Acting and Musical Theater

Sunday, August 5th – Friday, August 17th, 2012      

The elite ArtsBridge Summer NYC 2012 gives dancers and actors specialized guidance on what it takes to be a theatre artist with a close look at college admission in the performing arts field. High school and college transfer students seriously considering a college major or minor in musical theater will learn how to make the right college choice, the importance of collaboration, and will gain valuable assistance on the college applications process.

Cost = $2800 + additional cost for housing (if needed)

 

ArtsBridge Summer NYC 2012 Audition Dates:

Friday, February 3rd, 2012 at 4:30pm

* You must submit your online application by Monday, January 3oth in order to attend the live audition in NYC.

* The deadline for the Virtual Audition through our online application is March 15th.

ArtsBridge Summer NYC 2012 Audition Requirements:

Two songs from the musical theatre and/or rock repertoire:

  • The live audition with provide accompaniment, if you are uploading your audition please provide accompaniment with your songs!
  • Please choose songs of contrasting styles.
  • Songs should be memorized and have 32 bar cuts.

One contemporary monologue:

  • Monologue should be memorized.
  • Monologue should be no more than one minute in length.

Dance technique

  • Dance needs to show technique and musicality.
  • Any type of music is fine.
  • Dance should be no more than 90 seconds in length.

What to Wear for Dance Live Auditions: Wear jazz pants or leggings, leotards or tank tops, or typical dance wear. Don’t forget jazz shoes.  Be ready to move!
